Ce que dit l'éditeur... a picture of Cuirassier officers of the First Empire. Only French and foreign soldiers who served with officer rank within a French Cuirassier regiment during the Empire have been included here. The officers of the provisional regiments have not been forgotten either. The officers are shown here according to their complete patronymic, mentioning where appropriate the name that was used the most or their nickname. Each entry includes the date of birth with, if known, the place ; the dates of promotions, successive transfers, wounds and feats of arms where known. The entries were compiled using the registers and the rolls of the officers of the fourteen cuirassier regiments which existed between 1804 and 1815 ; in each entry we have also shown how the names of the regiments changed. The regiments' various campaigns do not appear in each individual entry; instead they have been re-grouped by regiment at the end of the study. |
